Press Release from Cycling Ulster:

"Cycling Ulster are pleased to announce Phillip McCallen E-Bikes as the sponsor of our regional hubs.

The Lisburn based bike shop will be working with Cycling Ulster to promote the opportunities that electric bikes offer for more people to participate in the sport.

Three of the facilities are currently on site at the Ecclesville Centre in Fintona, Co. Tyrone, the Jim Watt Sports Centre in Garvagh and Downpatrick Leisure Centre. Three further hubs will be operational later in the year.

This partnership will get underway on Saturday on the opening day of the Irish National Cyclo-cross Championships that are taking place at the Palace Demesne in Armagh.

Phillip McCallen E-bikes have joined together with the promoting club, Square Wheels CC to give some of the top riders in the country the opportunity to test themselves on the course to see what times they can achieve with the advantage of extra watts provided by an electric motor.

Cycling Ulster Chairperson, Tommy McCague said:

“We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Philip McCallen E-Bikes to sponsor our regional hubs.

“The hubs mark a significant development for Cycling Ulster as they provide a base for us and our clubs to use for various activities.

“This new partnership will see Phillip McCallen E-Bikes host promotional days at the hubs, highlighting how electric bikes provide more opportunities for people to take up our sport and enjoy the physical and mental health benefits it offers.

“As well as this, these days will also offer bike maintenance advice to local members and clubs.

“We want to thank Phillip for investing in our regional hubs and we look forward to working together in the future.”

Phillip McCallen said:

"Myself and the Team are very excited to be working with Tommy and his colleagues at Cycling Ulster. We are looking forward to working with each of the regional hubs to promote the use of electric cycles for fitness, fun and even racing."
